My Song

The Theme from Mahogany which is a hit from the 1975 movie Mahogany starring Diana Ross is one of my all time favorite songs. I consider it my personal theme song, reflecting my own life.

An anecdote I would like to share concerning Diana Ross is this, my Russian friend Tanya told me about a reaction her late father once had. Her father had been a very serious man, not one to even say he found any woman outside his wife was attractive. One day the family had the television on, and Diana Ross appeared. Tanya said her father just stopped and said, “That is a very beautiful woman.” This was the first and only time that my friend and “big sister” ever heard her father say such a thing.
